Hey everyone! We hope you all had a great holiday weekend. It was so hot Saturday and the slip and slide was a big success! Hazel had a great time, but our grass suffered the price and is dead where the plastic was laying. I guess that is the price you pay to play. Regardless, she had a great day and that is all that matters ;).

We have been digging carrots all morning, and even after running irrigation for several hours yesterday, the ground is still hard as a rock! We went from too much rain to now zero rain in sight! One extreme to the other, and a lot of stuff planted has bolted, gone to seed, so Van has been mowing a lot of stuff down today. I think the whole town of Flora smelled like cilantro this morning! haha!

Well, we really hope you have been enjoying your boxes so far. We are happy to add some carrots to the mix this week! Y’all have a great week, and enjoy some quality time with friends and family in the kitchen and over a good home cooked meal. Cheers! Here are the contents of this week’s box:

  1. Spring Onions

  2. Napa Cabbage

  3. Swiss Chard- Great link below on how to prep/clean and recipe ideas and what to do with an overload of Swiss chard.

  4. Parsley

  5. Broccoli OR Cauliflower

  6. Kohlrabi

  7. Carrots- Beautiful carrots with greens still on them. And don’t discard those greens! You can actually make a really great tasting pesto out of them.

  8. Beets- Recipe below is great, but edit with smaller amount of beets.
