Hello everyone! I hope you all have been well in my absence! I started to have some health issues last week concerning this pregnancy, so I took a big step back last week, and the blog was neglected! I am so sorry. All is better now, so we are thankful for that.
Well what can I say other than it has been pouring rain today. Van was working on the tractor early this morning tilling some ground and trying to get it ready to plant winter squash and pumpkins for the fall, but the rain stopped him in his tracks. It just seems like every time Van attempts to get the ground ready for next year, a torrential down pour happens! It has been the craziest season that we have ever experienced! Not sure why climate change is not talked about as much as it NEEDS to be talked about, but in my farming eyes, it is REAL!! And it effects our economical health and our human health. I wish I would see this crisis being addressed more in our society. Ok, rant over ;)
We hope you have been enjoying your boxes so far! So, I would like to address pick up days/times for next week concerning the 4th of July holiday. Since the holiday falls on Thursday of next week, we will be having pick up for that Thursday on Tuesday. So if you pick up Thursday, expect to pick up Tuesday July 2nd at M7 Coffee House from 4-6pm. We will be at market on Saturday, so that pick up day is staying the same. If any of you Saturday folks are needing to switch to Tuesday pick up, don’t worry, we an accommodate you as well. If anyone wants to pick up Saturday instead, that is fine too. We will be sending out an email or phone call this weekend to confirm everyone’s pick up day!
Also, some folks have been requesting we go ahead and open registration for our FALL CSA, so sign up is officially open! 8 weeks of super yummy fall vegetables (my personal favorite season). This season ALWAYS fills up fast, so go ahead and secure your spot now.
I hope you have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend! Here are the contents of this week’s box:
Corn
Slicing Tomatoes
Cherry Tomatoes
Seedless Watermelon
Peaches (Pontotoc, MS)
Pickling Cucumbers
Hakurei Turnips
